Sociology New Major Advising
Sociology does not have walk-in advising. Visit our Advising Webpage to learn more about declaring a major or minor.
CHESS (College of Humanities & Earth and Social Science), 2nd FL in Fretwell, will do advising for:
- GEN ED (General Education) questions
- Transient Study questions
- Academic Policy
Please Note: CHESS advising will not advise regarding any topic, question, concern directly relating to the Sociology major or minor. Please check with the CHESS Advising Center for their scheduled hours.
All existing Sociology Majors will schedule advising appointments through Connect. You will find the link to Connect on My UNC Charlotte. If your advisor does not appear in your Connect list, you will find your advisor listed on this page which has advisor contact information.
If you feel that you do not need an advising appointment, general questions can be answered by department staff. However, the staff are not authorized to provide official academic advice.
